Throwback Thursday!

TBT

The theme for last Thursday's "Throwback Thursday" was PROM! My bother Joe attended his Senior Prom on April 20th so I though what a great theme for TBT this week!

Me at my Senior Prom in 2008. I definitely had the prettiest dress of all time! Thanks Auntie Kristin for the best gift ever!
Lauren and her date for her Senior Prom in 2010. She also had a gorgeous dress!
Joe and his cute date at their Senior Prom 2013. I think Joe is scared of girls!

Fun TBT Prom facts:
I did my own hair as well as Lauren's hair for Prom.
- Lauren's dress came from a second hand store for only $30!
- Joe's senior class had their pictures taken at Reptile Garden's before prom.

See you next Thursday!

We Grow Wednesday

I know it isn't Wednesday but I have been busy for the past week so I'm going to try to catch up on my posts! We'll start with Wednesday last week.

Target is my favorite store! The dollar section at Target is even better! I recently bought three pots, three types of flowers, a watering can, and gardening gloves. My activity on Wednesday was to plant my flowers!

The yellow pot has sunflowers, the green has daisies, and the red has poppies.
Here is Mr. El my Elephant watering can. He's cute!
Ready to plant!

Planting Process
Step 1: Take pod and add one tablespoon of water.
Step 2: Stare in awe of how big the pod grew with just some water!

The rest of the steps I forgot to take pictures of but I put potting soil in my pots, dug a hole, and place the pod in the soil. I then dumped the seeds on top the pod and covered lightly with soil.

Finished Product!
Mr. El will be keeping a good eye on the flowers as they start growing!
Luckily, there were some small Dr. Ward plant stands around to show case my flowers!

Stay tuned for 'We Grow Wednesday' tomorrow to see how much the flowers have started to grow!

Super Saturday!

Super Saturday!

Yes I know it is Tuesday but as you remember from yesterday I forgot my pictures of my Saturday activities, which really aren't pictures from the activity because, well you'll see..

Many people know that Chris and I have be renovating our main bathroom and on Saturday  we showered (not together) in the completely finished bathroom for the first time! That is why Saturday was so SUPER! No more walking downstairs to use the toilet and shower!

Here are so pictures of the finished product. Unfortunately we didn't get any pictures of the bathroom before we started tearing everything out. :(
I had to order the perfect shower curtain so the white is just the liner.

 Pretty new faucet!
Love the glass tile!
 Love the floating glass shelves!
Up close picture of the glass tiles.

It only took around six months to get everything finished and a lot of great helpers but I'm so glad to have it finished! Thanks to everyone that helped! You're all awesome!

Manic Monday

What a Manic Monday!

What a crazy day! So I forgot the pictures at home of that I did all weekend so instead of ruining the surprise I will just talk about my crazy Monday! First off, Happy Earth Day! I was trying to be a good person by celebrating Earth Day but it turned out to be pretty Manic! Last year Grandma and I went to Target and got free reusable bags in honor of Earth Day. So, yesterday we went and got our free Earth Day bags.
We got these cute reusable bags with coupons and freebies!

While at Target I decided that I should make the famous treat Dirt & Worms, in honor of Dirt & Worms. I got my cups, pudding, whipped topping, chocolate creme cookies, and gummy worms. Simple right? Wrong!

I wanted to make enough cups of Dirt & Worms for everyone at work. I decided to make 50 cups of Dirt. I made my pudding and creme topping. Well, I figured out soon that I didn't buy enough worms. So, I ran to Target and got more worms while my pudding was setting up. I got home and started putting the cups together. Well I soon realized that I didn't have enough of anything! I had to run to Wal*Mart this morning at 7:45 (Target wasn't open yet) to get more pudding, cookies, whipped topping, and a soda to keep me going!

After six boxes of Family Sized Chocolate Pudding, six packages of store brand Oreo's, six containers of store brand Cool Whip, four bags of Gummy Worms, one gallon of milk, and three trips to two different stores, I had all 50 cups of Dirt & Worms finished! I was so excited! I put the cups into my muffin pans for easier travels and wrapped them with plastic wrap. As I was getting ready to put everything in my car it started pouring rain! I was so frustrated! I pulled my car into the garage, put them into the car, and finally made it to work. Luckily, the plastic wrap help from making my Dirt turn into mud!

Everyone at work was so excited to get treats! None of them even knew it was Earth Day! So after all of my hard work, I had to explain that since it was Earth Day I brought some Earth for them to eat!

Happy Monday & Earth Day everyone!

Finally Friday!

Thank Goodness it is Finally Friday!

After a full week of work this week I am pooped! I didn't do anything too exciting this week so I am going to tell you about all of my excitement last week! Last Monday (4/8) we had our first severe thunderstorm come through Kearney. There was thunder, lightning, hail, and 70 MPH winds! The wind literally knocked down the power poles right outside the lab. So, for the rest of the week I didn't have to work! I had a nice little V-Kay!
The poor trees out front had some branches broken :(
There were about a mile of poles down. It took NPPD five days to get them repaired!

In my down time I got a lot accomplished! Well.. not really but I'd like to think so! First on my list was to get my nails redone.
The color I picked is pretty close to 'OPI Pamplona Purple' I wanted something colorful for spring, even though it is still freezing outside!
And... while I was getting my nails done it hailed so much that it looked like it snowed!
The next day I tried to log in some feeds at Grandma & Grandpa's house but Miracle kept eating the bags of feed samples. Silly cat, you're not a cow!
Thursday night I tried a recipe from Pinterest, Green Chile Pepper Jack Chicken Enchiladas. It turned out to be quite delicious! This is not my picture, I unfortunately didn't take a picture of mine. The recipe is from *Riches to Rags* by Dori. I would definitely recommend to others!
Saturday +Amanda Weyhrich (Chris' sister) and I went to Nails Unlimited and got pedicures. I picked another spring time color, Bubble Gum Pink (I made that name up).

Most people already know I LOVE shopping and I also LOVE finding great deals! So my Sunday consisted of shopping with Amanda and my Grandma. We went to TJ Maxx and   Hy-Vee. I found some great stuff at even greater prices!

My first good find was some t-shirts for Chris. A couple weeks ago I got Chris some tee's just like this at the Buckle. I paid the same price as on the retail tag shown. The grey shirt  retails for $29.50, the blue for $22.50. I paid $9.99 per shirt at TJ Maxx! Can't believe that I saved so much money between the two stores!

I'm still new to this blogging thing so I'm still figuring out how to get everything how I want it so bare with me!  The next awesome thing I got was a Roxy dress, perfect for going to the lake and The Barefoot Bar. Super cute and only $24.99!
My favorite new item is this Navy & Sea Green Maxi skirt! The brand is Olive & Oak. I had never heard of this brand but I researched them and they are pretty cool! I got this awesome skirt for only $19.99! I'm pretty excited because I keep Pinning skirts that look just like this and now I have one!

Hope everyone had/ has a happy Friday!

Throwback Thursday!

So I am jumping on the bandwagon! I'm starting off my blog by doing 'Throwback Thursday' that is all about me :)

We'll start off by introducing the adorable younger me! I was 2 in this picture and I sure was the most adorable toddler ever!
Tatum was my first ever puppy, well actually my Dad's but we shared. She was around before I had siblings and one of the best dogs anyone will ever have!
Here is me, still adorable as ever, at age 4!
And then... I got old. Here is the geeky me at age 9.
Here is me now! Well not right now, December 2012 in Jamaica!
And introducing Kiya! She is my adorable puppy! You will be hearing much more about her in the future blogs!

Now to introduce my siblings with TBT! I have one sister (Lauren) and one brother (Joe), both younger than me! That's right, I'm the oldest and shortest :)
This picture is us at my Grandparents 50th wedding anniversary party in 2009.
We were so proud when Lauren graduated high school in 2010!
Thanksgiving 2011. We can never all look good in the same picture.

*Thank you to my Auntie Kristin for all the old photos that I stole :)

Check back next Thursday for another "Throwback Thursday"
